Main Print Inspiration
Inspired by the idea of a luxe, global holiday, I designed this tree skirt to take you on a picturesque journey across the world. The exclusive main pattern is inspired by vintage ornaments from Europe and is meant to resemble dazzling ornaments suspended on delicate threads.
For an extra dose of holiday enchantment, I incorporated ornamental, stylized snowflakes and stars inspired by vintage wrapping paper.
Border Inspiration
I thought it would be compelling to enhance the global imagery with a Celtic knot-inspired border pattern. The outer decorative border that frames the tree skirt is influenced by a traditional Ajrak folk print from the desert state of Rajasthan, India.
Hand-Painted Details on Our Enchanting Tree Skirt
I had all the design elements hand-painted, then printed the hand-painted design–this lends the white tree skirt a wonderful, painterly feel.
Exquisite Touches: Handsewn Mirror-Work and Tassels
I also had the tree skirt embellished with decorative mirror-work. Small mirrors have been carefully positioned and handsewn all over the surface of the fabric. So, when it’s laid out under a well-lit Christmas tree, the mirrors will glimmer and shimmer with reflected light—magical, don’t you think?
I had the tree skirt finished with handsewn, luxurious snow white and gold handcrafted tassels.
