Warmest greetings from me, Anisha, owner and designer here at Saffron Marigold. It has been a long-held dream to bring you a holiday shop with a collection of exquisite, unique, handcrafted gifts and treasures that I hope will truly delight.
I am so excited that it’s finally happening this year–stay tuned for holiday shop updates in the weeks ahead! My most cherished holiday offering this year is this stunning, magical tree skirt that I hope you will adore as much as I do.
Main Print Inspiration
Inspired by the idea of a luxe, global holiday, I designed this tree skirt to take you on a picturesque journey across the world. The exclusive main pattern is inspired by vintage ornaments from Europe and is meant to resemble dazzling ornaments suspended on delicate threads.
For an extra dose of holiday enchantment, I incorporated ornamental, stylized snowflakes and stars inspired by vintage wrapping paper.
Border Inspiration
I thought it would be compelling to enhance the global imagery with a Celtic knot-inspired border pattern. The outer decorative border that frames the tree skirt is influenced by a traditional Ajrak folk print from the desert state of Rajasthan, India.
Hand-Painted Details
I had all the design elements hand-painted, then printed the hand-painted design–this lends the tree skirt a wonderful, painterly feel.
Extra Special Touches
I had the tree skirt embellished with decorative mirror-work. Small mirrors have been carefully positioned and handsewn all over the surface of the tree skirt. So, when it’s laid out under a well-lit Christmas tree, the mirrors will glimmer and shimmer with reflected light–magical, don’t you think?
I had the tree skirt finished with handsewn, luxurious snow white and gold handcrafted tassels.
Heirloom Quality
The sturdy cotton duck and handcrafted embellishments render this tree skirt an heirloom quality accessory–it will be there to dazzle and delight all who behold it for many years to come.
